A 43-year-old man, by name Rabiu Usman, has been apprehended by The Adamawa State Police Command for alleged child molestation and defiling a minor.
This development was made public through a press statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesman, Chief Superintendent of Police Suleiman Ngoruje.

According to the statement, Usman was taken into custody for defiling an 11-year-old minor in Timdore District, Ganye Local Government Area of the state. The arrest was made following a directive from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye. This directive came after another victim’s mother filed a complaint against the suspect.
The statement read “The arrest follows a referral from the Chief Magistrate Court, Ganye, based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. “That, on 16th February 2025, the victim, while attending a wedding ceremony in Timdore village, went to a nearby house to drink water. Unfortunately, the suspect forcefully dragged her to the rear side of the compound and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.”
He stated that the victim was taken to a medical centre in Ganye for medical examination and proper treatment.
Dankombo Morris, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police strongly condemned the act and urged the Officer in Charge of the Family Support Unit of the Command to take over the investigation and ensure that the suspect is brought to book
He stated that Adamawa State Police Command remains firm in its fight against all forms of sexual abuse and gender-based violence.
The commissioner urged parents and guardians to keep a close watch on their wards children and report to the Police especially those with questionable characters.
