A groom and two friends arrested for allegedly killing wife in a marathon sex
The police command of Jigawa has arrested a 20-year-old groom, Auwal Abdulwahab and his three accomplices for allegedly forcing his bride into an act of sex without her consent.
The command spokesman, SP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed this incident in a statement released to Naija Eyes.
He reported that it took place on 26/04/2025 at about 2200hrs in Tungo village, Albasu District in Sule Tankarkar local Government.
Shiisu said within a few days of marrying the newly married man, such events are suspected to have been orchestrated against his wife.
“The groom is said to have conspired with three of his friends namely Nura Basiru, Muttaka Lawan and Hamisu Musa, to enter into their matrimonial home with the intent of coercing his bride into non-consensual sexual activity, while in the process, said wife died.”
According to preliminary investigation, the bride was said to have disagreed over conjugal matters prior to the nuptial rites with the husband, as revealed by Shiisu.
Upon the receipt of the report, a team of policemen rushed to the scene and evacuated the corpse to Gumel General Hospital for medical examination of the doctor on call, who confirmed her death.
As for the corpse, it was released for burial by her parents, while all the four people allegedly involved have been detained and taken into custody for discreet investigation.
The Command Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP AT Abdullahi, has directed that the matter be immediately transferred to the State CID Dutse for a discreet investigation.
“After the investigation is completed, all suspects will be prosecuted accordingly. There will be two charges to be brought against the suspects under the relevant laws of the jurisdiction, including criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide,” he noted.
