A group of bandits attacked Tsauni Village in Zamfara and Kidnapped two councillors and an Imam.
The Tsauni community in Zamfara state has been on a high alert after two serving councillors and an Imam were kidnapped by Bandits on Wednesday, October 1.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 8:05 p.m. near a Police outpost in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
Hon. Sanusi Gama Giwa, the council chairman of the Maradun LGA, confirmed the incident and also identified the councillors as serving members of his council for Gidan Goga and Tsibiri wards.
He further explained that the victims were relaxing at a tea spot after Maghrib prayers before the Bandits attacked and took six of them. This incident happened in front of a Police station, and according to reports, they seized some phones of the policemen but did not harm them.
According to Giwa, the bandits were actually looking for a specific individual who was from Kaura village. However, they turned to the councillors as they could not capture their target.
However, they later released three of them after walking a distance and moved on with the two councillors and Imam.
