Puff Diddy rejects plea deal ahead of sex trafficking trial next week
Sean Diddy Combs testified in a hearing that he had in fact rejected a plea deal with the federal prosecutors in his s£x trafficking case and thereby allowing jury selection next week.
“Did you reject any offer on behalf of the government?” U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, the trial judge sitting in New York, asked him on Thursday, May 1.

“I did, Your Honor,” answered Combs.
Combs, 55, will be in trial next Monday for jury selection on charges that include racketeering conspiracy, s£x trafficking, and prost!tution, which claim he coerced women into extended sexual encounters that he called “freak-offs.”
According to Maurene Comey, an assistant United States attorney, the possible benefits of accepting a plea to one or more of those crimes would have reduced the time Combs would ultimately serve in prison as punishment, which under all the counts could be something basically like a life sentence.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges of s£x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for engagement in prost!tution.
“Mr. Combs’ legal team discussed these particulars with him and together made the decision to reject the offer,” as defense attorney Marc Agnifilo said.
One of the lawyers for [his] defense, Teny Geragos, expressed apprehensions over Lisa Bloom’s remarks in the course of the documentary pertaining to the case. Specifically, Bloom represents two of Combs’ civil accusers.

“She has engaged in conduct that we found troubling,” Geragos stated.
Combs was arrested last year after being charged in a sprawling sex trafficking in diction.
