Sowore Seeks Arrest of 'Prophet' Obi Over Alleged False Prophecies

Instead of the 32-year-old Loveth Helen Alo who was charged Tuesday for falsifying claims of owning a five-bedroom duplex at Enugu, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore advocates for the arrest and prosecution of the self-acclaimed “Prophet” Ebuka Obi.

Sowore, in a statement after Alo’s arraignment at the Enugu North Magisterial District Court, accused Obi of deceiving the public with fraudulent prophecies and fake miracles while extorting money from gullible church members.

“The person who should be arrested and arraigned is the so-called ‘Prophet’ Ebuka Obi, not Loveth Helen Alo,” Sowore said.

The former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) accused Obi of continuously duping the public and knocked the authorities for that they go after Alo instead.

He also promised to assist Alo and pleaded that anybody who has her contact should come forth.

Alo was arraigned before the law court after making a claim of an owner to a property at WTC Estate, Enugu.

“This is so unfair and unjust. The person who should be arrested is the so-called ‘Prophet’ Ebuka Obi, who has continuously given false prophecies, scammed many unsuspecting church members, and obtained money falsely from the public with his fake miracles. If anyone knows this lady, then please let me know how we can help,” Sowore added.

Earlier, Naijaeyes have published that Alo was brought to the Enugu North Magisterial District Court for falsely claiming to own an alleged five-bedroom duplex situated at WTC Estate, Enugu.

The suspect claimed that God endowed her with that property during a testimony at Ebuka Obi’s Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, Nigeria.

In a press release made on Tuesday by the State Police Command, Alo was arrested on February 1, 2025, following a petition claiming that she falsely laid claim to the ownership of that property.

In the statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the police stated that the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, admitting that she acted alone.

Ndukwe explained that Alo was charged with five counts, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.

According to the release statement, Iluovers were granted bail while the case was scheduled for a call on April 9, 2025.

The statement partly read: “on February 1, 2025, detectives from the Enugu State Police Command, attached to the Legal Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), arrested a 32-year-old suspect, Loveth Helen Alo, following a petition alleging that she falsely claimed ownership of a five-bedroom duplex located at WTC Estate, Enugu.

“She allegedly presented the property as hers during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, Nigeria.

A viral video captured the face of the accused at a Zion Ministry program, wherein she purported to have been blessed by God with the acquisition of the said property. During her testimony, there was church footage of the building.

“In another viral video, she was supposed to have confessed that she bought the property for two hundred million Naira (N200,000,000.00).

“The suspect confessed to the crime in the course of interrogation: she acted alone. She was charged before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court on March 11, 2025, in a five-count charge of obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud; defamation of character and attempted opposite, in that she tried to sell the property.

“Bail was granted, with a subsequent court hearing set for April 9, 2025.”

Reactions

@Squere: she made the Testimony to attract the followers of the church to believe in the Miracle of that Pastor and church. She did that in favour of the pastor and the church which she can’t do without the consent of the pastor to Waooo their member in other to bring more income for the church and its owner.

@Tinesq; Meanwhile sowore will remain mute and silent over the evangelist and music minister that used his girlfriend for rituals and the funny white garment fraudsters that were licking their tongue on social media.
