Ekiti authorities apprehend teenage twins for theft of bags of rice and beans.
Ekiti State Police Command operatives have apprehended a pair of twins, Taiwo and Kehinde Olasoji, along with two others, Funke Afolayan and Nnaji Aroh, for their involvement in burglary and the receipt of stolen goods.
Sunday Abutu, the spokesperson for the command, revealed this in a statement issued on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
The twins were apprehended on April 25 while attempting to break into a shop located at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti. Upon interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime.
They further revealed that they were responsible for burglarizing
“They further revealed that they were responsible for burglarizing three shops at Fayemi Market in Agric Olope, Ado Ekiti, where they made away with two bags of rice, two bags of beans, and other valuables valued at N936,750,” the statement disclosed.
Further investigations by the Command’s Rapid Response Squad led to the arrest of Funke Afolayan and Nnaji Benignus Aroh, whom the suspects claimed had been receiving stolen property from them.
The statement concluded that the suspects would be arraigned in due course.
