Fear has engulfed residents of Tse-Atim community in Ugbaam, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, after an early morning attack allegedly carried out by armed men believed to be Fulani herders.
Local sources report that the attackers stormed the community in the early hours of Tuesday, abducting several residents before fleeing into the nearby bushes.
The exact number of those kidnapped could not be immediately ascertained.
The incident has brought panic among villagers, with many fleeing their homes for fear of further attacks.

Community members are calling on security agencies to urgently intervene to ensure the safe release of the abducted persons and prevent a recurrence.
Traditional rulers and local leaders have appealed to both the Benue State Government and federal authorities to deploy additional security personnel to the area to restore calm and protect lives and property.
As of the time of filing this report, police and other security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
