And on April 29, 2025, the High Court of the Ekiti State, in Ado-Ekiti, and presided over by Hon. Justice O.O. Olatawura, found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging five men for armed robbery and murder.
They also, however, got 21 years’ imprisonment each for conspiracy.
The five convicts were Ojo Tope (a.k.a. Tope Dudu), Damilola Christopher (a.k.a. XY), Joshua Adegoke, Aderopo Temitope (a.k.a. Tope Pupa), and Oyedele Oluwatobi, who were found guilty of committing the offences on August 18, 2021, at Agogo Street, Ilupeju Avenue, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti.

These criminals took from the victims, Ajiboye Olajide, Lateef Temidayo Busari, and Akeem Isiaka, an amount of money in cash, a laptop, mobile phones, and assorted other valuables.
The convicts brutally murdered the night street guard known as Joseph Blessing.
Five people were charged with conspiracy, armed robbery, and m8rder contrary to Section 516A and Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law, Cap. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Julius Ajibare, Esq., appeared for the state and called four witnesses and adduced thirteen exhibits.

Adeyinka Opaleke appeared in defence of all five accused persons, who all testified on their behalf and did not call any witnesses of their own.

Justice Olatawura held that the prosecution had proven all charges beyond a reasonable doubt.The court accordingly sentenced all five convicts to death by hanging for armed robbery and murder, and to 21 years’ imprisonment for conspiracy.
