Davido and his wife, Chioma, tragically lost their three-year-old son in October 2022 after he drowned in a pool at the singer’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos.
In a recent interview with ABC News’ Rocsi Diaz, Davido shared that the heartbreaking loss deeply altered his outlook on life and his music career.
He also said he was proud about how him and Chioma handled the loss and were able to bounce back.
The music star revealed that their strength has become a source of inspiration for many, recounting how people approached him on several occasions to appreciate him for inspiring them to be strong in hard times.

“Stepping away after losing my son and being able to look back into my career, gave me a refocus of how I wanted to move going forward. It changed my life.
“I know how many who randomly come to me at the airport to tell me how my strength has inspired them in hard times. I was telling me wife the other day that I’m proud of how we bounced back. Now, we got twins. They are big and shouting everywhere. For us to be able to go through the lost of our son and be able to bounce back in a major way is huge,” Davido said.
