The Delta State Police Command has stressed that effective collaboration among security and intelligence agencies is crucial in addressing the increasingly complex security challenges facing the country.
Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, made this known on Tuesday while receiving participants of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course (ADIOC) 16/2026 from the Defence Intelligence College, Karu, Abuja, who were on a Nigeria Study Tour.
The delegation, comprising 20 course participants and senior staff members, was led by the Commandant of the college, Commodore U.N. Bugaje. They were received by the police commissioner alongside members of the command’s management team.
Speaking on the theme, “Strengthening National Resilience Through Integrated, Multi-Agency Coordination and Regional Security Cooperation,” Oyeniyi emphasised the importance of closer cooperation among security agencies.
He said intelligence sharing, coordinated responses and stronger partnerships were essential to effectively prevent and tackle security threats.
The police commissioner also highlighted some of the command’s operational successes, using practical examples to demonstrate the benefits of intelligence-led policing and collaboration between security agencies in combating crime across Delta State.
Participants later engaged the CP and senior officers in discussions on issues relating to policing, intelligence gathering, crime prevention and security operations.
The visit ended with the Delta State Police Command reaffirming its commitment to sustained collaboration with other security and intelligence agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property.
