Desmond Elliot, Nollywood actor-turned-politician and lawmaker representing Surulere I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has raised concerns over the withdrawal of his security aides.
The lawmaker made the allegation just hours before the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election scheduled for May 20, 2026.
In a trending video circulating on social media, Elliot accused party leaders and local government officials of allegedly pressuring party members to support a preferred aspirant.
Desmond Elliot also claimed that some local government officials were removed from their positions due to their support for him.

According to Desmond Elliot, “intimidation, coercion, twisting and forcing people to follow their own candidate is what is happening today in Surulere. They are telling them they will not benefit from empowerment programmes.
“We have been intimidated so much that many people have been removed from the local government because they support me. My security personnel were also taken away from me yesterday. I’m now left alone. What have I done?”
The development reportedly comes after the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, publicly withdrew his support for Elliot following his alleged involvement in moves to impeach Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa in 2025.
Desmond Elliot, who is serving his fourth term in the Lagos Assembly, later tendered an apology to Gbajabiamila during an appearance on the TVC programme Your View.
