Record producer and music executive, Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, has opened up about one of the toughest decisions of his career — parting ways with former Mavin Records artist, Di’ja.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, Don Jazzy revealed that the moment was highly emotional, noting that Di’ja could clearly see how uncomfortable and heartbroken he was during the conversation.
According to the Mavin boss, Don Jazzy treats every artist signed to his label like family, which made the situation even more difficult for him to handle.

“One of the hardest decisions of my career was letting Di’ja go. It was really difficult, and I don’t think I’ll personally handle such a situation again. Tega and Rima take care of that now whenever someone has to leave the label,” he said.
He further explained that emotions ran high during the discussion, recalling that everyone in the room became emotional.
“Everybody on my label feels like my child. So it was hard for both of us. She even asked the people in the room why they had to involve me because she knew it was difficult for me. We all ended up crying,” Don Jazzy added.
Di’ja joined Mavin Records on February 14, 2014, and went on to release several hit singles and an EP under the label between 2014 and 2017.
However, in 2023, the singer clarified that she never officially exited Mavin Records, explaining that “life happened.”
