In a statement, the Corps said the operation, scheduled to run from April 1 to April 8, 2026, is aimed at managing the anticipated surge in traffic as Nigerians join Christians globally to celebrate Easter.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, explained that the initiative was necessitated by the expected increase in both vehicular and human movement across the country.
As part of the exercise, the FRSC has mapped out key routes for intensified monitoring. These include the Lagos-Ibadan, Sagamu-Ore-Benin, Abuja-Lokoja, Benin-Auchi-Okene, Kaduna-Zaria-Kano, Ilorin-Mokwa-Birnin Gwari, and Bauchi-Gombe corridors. Major eastern routes such as Onitsha-Asaba-Benin, Onitsha-Owerri, and Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt are also covered.
The Corps noted that personnel and logistics have been strategically stationed along these highways to enhance traffic flow, ensure rapid emergency response, and boost visibility.

It further stated that enforcement would be intensified against common traffic violations associated with road accidents, including speeding, dangerous driving and overtaking, overloading, lane indiscipline, use of mobile phones while driving, tyre-related offences, road obstruction, and the mixing of passengers with goods.
Additionally, special focus will be placed on compliance with seat belt usage, child restraint measures, proper passenger manifest documentation, and the use of roadworthy vehicles.
To reinforce compliance, the FRSC will also deploy mobile courts along major routes to facilitate the swift prosecution of traffic offenders, a step aimed at promoting discipline and accountability among motorists.
