The State Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, stated this in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Monday while speaking with journalists.
He said many of those now contesting under opposition parties were previously given APC tickets in the 2023 general elections but failed, insisting they would still be defeated in 2027.

According to him, “If my mind is made up on anything, it is made up. APC will win the 2027 general election in Ebonyi very comfortably.
“Many of those making noise today were once given APC tickets but lost elections. They contested under the ruling party and failed, and now they are trying again in the opposition.
“They are all scavengers; what they are after is money to fund their ambitions. None of them is serious. We now have credible candidates for the next election,” he said.
Emegha also dismissed claims that some APC candidates had been dropped, describing such reports as false and misleading.
He explained that the candidates currently recognised by the party are those produced through the primaries conducted by committees sent from the national secretariat.
He added that it is the party’s responsibility to forward its list of cleared candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), noting that he had already done so.
According to him, the party leadership at the state level, in consultation with stakeholders, agreed on the candidates to be fielded in the elections.
He further said Governor Francis Nwifuru, party stakeholders, and other leaders were involved in the process that produced the final list of candidates.
