$300,000 lawsuit for Jennifer Lopez over unauthorized use of red carpet Photos
Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez is facing a $300,000 lawsuit for allegedly sharing copyrighted photos from the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on her social media without proper permission.

On January 5, Lopez walked the red carpet in a flowing white gown and faux fur coat. She later posted five photos from the event with the caption “GG Weekend Glamour,” which quickly gained popularity on fan pages and media platforms.

Photographer Edwin Blanco and his agency, Backgrid, have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit, claiming that Lopez shared two of their images without authorization. They are seeking $150,000 in damages for each photo.
The lawsuit contends that Lopez used the images to enhance her personal brand by tagging her clothing and jewelry designers and promoting her fashion partnerships.
The complaint states, “Ms. Lopez’s unauthorized use of the images is commercial in nature,” emphasizing that she used the publicity for self-promotion.
It also claims that her team had previously agreed to licensing terms, but Lopez has not finalized the deal.

This is not the first time Lopez has faced legal issues regarding photo rights; she was sued in similar cases in 2019 and 2020 for posting professionally taken images without clearance.
