Popular Rivers event planner brutally shot dead by gunmen in Port Harcourt

A popular Port Harcourt based event planner, Mina Orupabo has been reportedly shot by unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, on Thursday night, March 19, 2026, at approximately 8 p.m., Mina, the CEO of Special Bensington Ushers, was attacked by the attackers near Total Gospel Road off Peter Odili Road.

She was reportedly heading to an event space for a pre-event inspection when the gunman started shooting.

Sources say she was going to an event hall for a pre-event check when the gunmen opened fire.

This comes only a few days after similar incident where popular skit maker Broda Shaggi was also reportedly shot by gunmen in Ogun state, although he survived the attack.

Her driver and another individual with her managed to escape. Mina was rushed to the hospital where she passed away on Saturday.

According to persons who knew Mina well, this was not the firs time she was targeted.

At the time of filing this report, the Rivers State police command is yet to officially verify the development or provide any statements to that regard.
