Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba, Anambra’s popular celebrity “Juju Man,” has been arrested by Agunechemba, Anambra State’s newly formed vigilantes.
He was picked up on Saturday morning by the vigilantes, according to a post on the Soludo TV Facebook page. He’s being detained and interrogated over security issues plaguing the state.
The post reads, “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba denies okeite and has been detained for further investigation by the Security Agency.”
According to several reports, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, the celebrity juju man, was arrested based on allegations that he makes bulletproof and disappearing charms for Yahoo boys, kidnappers, armed robbers, and unknown gunmen terrorizing the Soludo-led state.

Charles Soludo, Anambra’s state governor, had ensured he invoked the Homeland Security Law, which states that there will be a strict punishment of 6 years in prison or a ₦20 million fine or even both for native doctors or individuals who prepare or administer charms, including the infamous ‘Odeshi,’ ‘Okeite,’ and ‘Mkpu Egbe.’
The law aims to curb the use of charms or juju, which has been used by criminals to terrorize the state.
Some individuals are beginning to liken the Agunechemba security outfit to the Bakassi Boys, who were once present in the state to stop criminals and ritualists before things went sour.
