Church Leaders Condemn Members’ Fixation on Sirbalo’s Skits.
Evangelist Kesiena Esiri, a prominent pastor at The Remnant Christian Network in Delta State, has made headlines with a passionate condemnation of Christians who engage with the comedic content of Sirbalo, a well-known skitmaker.
In a recent viral video, Evangelist Kesiena delivered a fervent sermon targeting those who find enjoyment in Sirbalo’s skits. Sirbalo, whose real name is Obotuke Timothy Ochuko, is known for his risqué comedy, often featuring voluptuous women as central elements of his humor.
Kesiena, with palpable intensity, criticized this form of comedy, describing it as “vile” and a “spectacle disguised as entertainment.” He argued that such content degrades women and promotes a negative view of Christianity. His message was clear: any Christian who finds humor in Sirbalo’s skits is straying from their faith and misinterpreting their relationship with God.
This denunciation comes amidst growing discussions about the appropriateness of certain types of comedy and their impact on religious and moral values. Kesiena’s remarks have sparked a wave of reactions both within and outside his congregation, highlighting a broader debate on the intersection of faith, entertainment, and morality.
