Super Falcons player Francisca Mlumun Ordega (OON) received high awards from the Benue State Government led by Governor Alia following her exceptional performance at the just finished 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
At a state reception in Makurdi on Wednesday evening, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia announced a N50 million monetary reward, the naming of a street in Ordega’s honour, and the distribution of a three-bedroom flat in the centre of Makurdi, the state capital.

The state government hosted the ceremony to honour Ordega’s accomplishments and to emphasise her contribution to Nigeria’s successful campaign at WAFCON 2024.
Ordega was commended by Governor Alia for boosting the state’s reputation and acting as an inspiration to young athletes in Benue and beyond the nation.

“Francisca Ordega has made Benue State and Nigeria proud. Her commitment, discipline, and talent deserve to be celebrated.
This is our little way of saying thank you,” governor Alia stated.
