Justice Looms: Ex-Queen Naomi’s Court Date Unveiled
The OyoJustice Looms: Ex-Queen Naomi’s Court Date Unveiled State High Court has set January 13 to rule on the motions for bail by former Ooni of Ife Queen Naomi Silekunola, Oriyomi Hazmat and Abdullahi Fasasi.
The presiding Justice K. B. Olawoyin assigned the date at the hearing on Tuesday.
Naomi, Hazmat, who is the proprietor of an Ibadan-based radio station, Agidigbo FM, and Fasasi, who is the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, were arrested following a stampede in December.
A stampede occurred in Ibadan in December, which claimed lives, with over 35 people dying as a result.
Counsel to the accused had filed an application before the Court, praying for bail against the respondents.
After listening to the submission and arguments of Counsels, Justice Olawoyin adjourned the ruling on the bail application until Tuesday, 13th Tuesday, 2025.
The suspects are presently being remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre Agodi.
