Man discovers that the pastor who officiated his wedding is the biological father of his two children.
A pastor from the End Time Messages church in Chiredzi Zimbabwe has been ordered to pay child support after DNA tests revealed he fathered two children with Eunice Mururi the woman whose wedding he had officiated.
After the truth came to light, Mururi’s marriage to Farai Hatirarami collapsed, and Mururi took Pastor Vhetu to court, seeking $700 monthly child support for their two children, 8-year-old and 4-year-old.
Pastor Vhetu admitted to fathering the children but pleaded for a reduced maintenance payment. Arguing that his income as a pastor comes primarily from tithes and offerings, often in the form of food hampers rather than cash.
His lawyer, Farai Chauke, also argued that Pastor Vhetu lacks a regular salary, limiting his ability to pay more than 150 ZiG per child.
Aside from his pastoral duties, Vhetu revealed that he is also a farmer and already has eight other children of his to support. He pledged to cover the children’s school uniforms and fees. However, he controversially suggested that new clothes should only be bought in June or December, sarcastically stating, “only Elon Musk’s children receive new clothes every month.”
The presiding Magistrate, Diana Musiiwa deemed his offer of 150 ZiG per child as “insincere” and ordered him to pay $175 per month for both children instead.
Pastor Vhetu’s child support case has left the community reeling in shock.
