Dr. Mo Abudu, celebrated media mogul and CEO of EbonyLife Group, is set to deliver the keynote address at the 4th Peace Ayiam Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference, organized by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB).

This year’s conference, focused on “Film and Video Regulation in the Digital Age,” will be held on November 14 and 15 in Lagos.

Abudu’s keynote, titled “From Local to Global: Developing Narratives and Content for Worldwide Appeal,” marks a highlight for the conference, which is known for attracting industry stakeholders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.

As a pioneer in African media, Abudu has been instrumental in promoting African stories worldwide, producing films like: The Wedding Party, Chief Daddy, The Royal Hibiscus, and Death and the King’s Horseman. Her work has earned her international accolades, from Forbes’ “Africa’s Most Successful Woman” to CNN’s “Africa’s Queen of Media.”

In her address, she’s expected to share valuable insights on crafting narratives that resonate globally while staying true to local cultural roots, a topic highly relevant for the conference’s goal of fostering content that appeals both locally and globally.

The NFVCB’s Executive Director, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, expressed excitement over Abudu’s participation. “Having Mo Abudu as our keynote speaker is thrilling,” he stated. “Her dedication to African stories and excellence in the industry makes her the perfect fit.”

Dr. Husseini added that the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, will open the conference, emphasizing the government’s commitment to Nigeria’s creative sector.

The two-day event promises a robust lineup of panel discussions and breakout sessions revolving around digital content regulation and growth. Supporters of the event include heavyweights like Google, Netflix, TikTok, Multichoice, the Film Distributors Association of Nigeria (FIDAN), Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

Since its inception in 2020, the PAO Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference has become a key platform for industry discussions on the challenges and opportunities in Nigeria’s digital content landscape.

With industry giants in attendance, this year’s conference aims to drive conversations that will shape the future of digital content in Nigeria and beyond.
