Shaboozey, a Nigerian-born singer, overtakes Beyoncé at the summit of Billboard’s Country Songs chart.
Collins Obinna Chibueze, better known as Shaboozey, a Nigerian-American singer, has achieved a historic feat on the US Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
His track ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ has ascended to the top spot on the chart, surpassing Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’. This marks the first time in history that two Black artists have consecutively held the number one position on the Hot Country Songs chart.
The American music statistics company, Chart Data, announced the news via Twitter, stating, “Shaboozey’s ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ rises to #1 on this week’s Hot Country Songs chart, replacing @Beyonce’s ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’.”
Notably, Shaboozey recently collaborated with Beyoncé on two tracks featured in her eighth studio album, ‘Cowboy Carter’.
