Olamide & Asake Rift? Social Media Buzzes with Fresh Claims

There are ongoing speculations regarding the Nigerian rapper and music honcho, Olamide, as well as his protégé, YBNL’s most coveted star, Asake, over rumors that the two have fallen apart with their issue becoming a heated discussion both online and offline.

Then on December 23, Monday, Olamide sponsored his legendary Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC) at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It was one event that can be said to be the first step in celebrating the legacy of Olamide. He got the audience screaming and singing along as his electrifying performance took the audience down memory lane with some of his evergreen songs, including Melo Melo, Fada Fada, and Omo Abule Sowo.

Some other noticeable personalities present at the Olamide concert include Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Ooni of Ife, Phyno, Omah Lay, Zlatan Ibile, Chinko Ekun, Yhemolee, Kogbagidi, Pheelz, Ckay, Harrysong, Fireboy DML,Peruzzi, Reminisce and a few others.

None other than the formidable shadow that overshadowed the glittering night was the absence of Asake, YBNL’s current brightest star; Asake is widely regarded as Olamide’s best ‘achievement’ in the industry within the last few years. Fans were indeed shocked by Asake’s absence, which led to intense speculation.

As if that were not enough, the famous music critic Olu Mayor posted a very controversial video that has ignited social media. In his unsparing commentary, Olu Mayor said, “How come out of everyone, Asake is the one that jilted the event of all days dedicated to celebrating his mentor?”
