Samklef claims credit for discovering Simi, Tunde Ednut, and Vector, and asserts that he provided Wizkid with six timeless hits.
Record producer Samuel Oguachuba, also known as Samklef, compiled a list of top Nigerian artists whom he claims to have assisted in gaining recognition on the global music stage.
Transitioning from a producer to a blogger, Samklef revealed his role in discovering and mentoring talents, as well as producing classic Nigerian songs for artists like Wizkid and Olamide.
The 39-year-old singer asserted that he discovered talents such as Simi, Ric Hassani, and singer-turned-blogger Tunde Ednut. He also mentioned mentoring Dami Krane and Phenom.
Samklef highlighted his contributions to the music industry, stating that he provided Wizkid with six classic hit songs and helped Olamide with his track ‘Stupid Love’ in 2013.
Despite his achievements, Samklef expressed that some people downplayed his contributions due to his humility.
He wrote, “I discovered Simi, Ric Hassani. I discovered Tunde Ednut. I was a mentor to Dami Krane, Flow Sick Phenom. I gave Durela his 2009 hits ‘Enemies’ and ‘Let Me Live My Life’. I gave Vector his first major hit ‘Kilode’. I gave myself ‘Molowo Noni’. I gave D’Prince ‘Jonzing World’. I gave Olamide his comeback hit song of 2013 ‘Stupid Love’.”
He further expressed determination to come back stronger despite challenges, emphasizing his investments in others who are now achieving greater success.
Social media users shared their opinions in the comment section, with mixed reactions to Samklef’s assertions.\
