The Presidency on Friday criticised leading opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, while alleging that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is facing deepening internal crisis.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the party’s internal dispute worsened following fresh criticism of its recent convention by expelled member Nafiu Bala.
In a post on X, Onanuga referenced Bala’s comments, in which he described the convention led by former Senate President David Mark as illegal.
He argued that the remarks further damage the credibility of the exercise and deepen the leadership crisis within the party.
Onanuga also mocked opposition figures, including former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, referring to them as lacking real stake in the party’s affairs.

In his post, he wrote that Bala’s statement had “further trashed the ADC illegal elective convention,” adding that the situation in the party was worsening. He also listed several opposition figures in his criticism, suggesting they are all entangled in the party’s internal struggles.
The ADC has continued to face leadership disputes and internal divisions in recent times.
