Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has batted down the prospect of switching from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fayose revealed that he would remain in any party that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), finds himself in.

The PDP leader promised his allegiance to the FCT Minister in an interview with TVC.
He said: “I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where I am.”
Fayose emphasised that he is still devoted to the PDP, saying, “I will never join the APC,” despite his harsh criticism of the party’s leadership in the South-West.

Fayose was a member of Wike’s PDP G-5 Integrity group, which chose to collaborate with other presidential contenders in the 2023 election.
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate at the time, was opposed by the G-5 group because he disagreed with the party’s rotation strategy.

The former Ekiti State governor alongside Wike, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former governor Ugwuanyi, worked for President Bola Tinubu’s emerged who was a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, while former governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State backed ex-Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
