Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that all FCT projects initiated in Abuja under President Bola Tinubu’s administration will be fully completed before the current term expires.
Wike gave the commitment during his monthly media briefing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while highlighting the infrastructure milestones recorded by the FCT Administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Before this tenure expires, every project started under Bola Tinubu would have been completed,” he said.
According to the minister, 76 of the 107 capital projects started during the Tinubu government have already been finished in the Federal Capital Territory.
He said that the remaining projects will be finished before the administration’s term ended, and ten more projects would be commissioned prior to the January elections.
Additionally, the minister revealed that the FCT Administration has significantly advanced projects that were left over from earlier administrations.
He said that of the 25 projects that were left over from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, 23 had been finished, and the other two were still being worked on.
He added that the administration inherited eight projects from the administrations of previous Presidents Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan, of which two were still in progress.
“We inherited 25 projects from President Buhari and completed 23, while two are currently ongoing.
He added, “We inherited eight projects from the administrations of President Jonathan and President Yar’Adua. We have completed six, while two are ongoing.”
Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s pledge to finish all projects started under Tinubu before the President’s term ends.

The latest promise comes after several months of intensified inspections and deadlines for contractors. In July 2026, Wike said no project would be abandoned under the Tinubu administration and that most ongoing FCT infrastructure projects would be delivered before the end of the year.
He specifically pointed to FCT projects that had been awarded as far back as 2010, saying the administration had completed most of them.
n August, Wike said at least 10 major road and infrastructure projects were expected to be completed and ready for commissioning before the polls.
