Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has threatened legal action against singer Seyi Vibez over comments he recently made about her on social media.
The controversy comes amid an ongoing dispute involving Seyi Vibez and other former Dapper Music artistes over alleged unpaid royalties and claims surrounding missing funds.
The controversy began after former Dapper Music signees, Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi and T.I Blaze, publicly called out the label’s owner, Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, over alleged royalty issues and claims involving about N1 billion in missing funds.
During the heated exchange on X, Seyi Vibez also directed some of his remarks at Hilda Baci, who is reportedly Dapper’s girlfriend.
The singer alleged that the music executive used money from their music catalogue to fund Hilda Baci’s BBL. He also claimed that food prepared by the chef nearly killed him.
Hilda Baci has now responded to the allegations through a legal warning letter issued to Seyi Vibez.
In the letter, she accused the singer of libel and defamation and demanded that he remove the posts and issue a public apology and retraction.
She also warned that failure to comply with the demands could lead to legal proceedings against him.
She said, “In light of the foregoing, we hereby demand that upon receipt of this letter, you immediately; remove and permanently delete the above referenced publications together with any other statement, post, comment, image, video and repost.
“Issue a clear and unequivocal public apology and retraction in respect of the offending publications, to be published prominently and contemporaneously across all your social media accounts.
“Within three days of your receipt of this letter, we further demand that you provide a written undertaking confirming that you shall henceforth cease and desist from publishing, communicating any defamatory content concerning our client,” the letter demanded.
The legal warning has added another layer to the ongoing dispute involving Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi, T.I Blaze and their former record label boss, Dapper.
The latest development also comes as the allegations and counterclaims surrounding the record label continue to generate reactions across social media.
