Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been cautioned by supporters of President Bola Tinubu, operating under the Progressive Network for Tinubu in Ondo State, not to run for president again in 2027.
Jonathan was cautioned by the Group of Tinubu followers that running for office will result in embarrassing.
Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the group issued this warning on Tuesday, stating that Tinubu has no real opposition.

The warning followed reports suggesting that Jonathan is considering contesting the 2027 poll under a yet-to-be-revealed political party.
Recall that previous report by NaijaEyes revealed a lawyer named Johnmary Jideobi filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday in response to the rumour, requesting a permanent injunction to prevent Goodluck from running for president in 2027.
Speaking on Tuesday at the opening of local government structures in each of Ondo State’s eighteen local government areas, the group’s Director-General, Olumide Obadele, stated that Jonathan should maintain his standing as a statesman by abstaining from the 2027 campaign, whatever of the legal obstacles.

Obadele insisted that opposition groups, such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are “on life support” and that Tinubu cannot be defeated by any candidate running on their platform, including Goodluck.
Obadele refuted allegations that the All Progressives Congress(APC), was uneasy about Jonathan’s purported desire, stating that his involvement is practically impossible due to constitutional and legal restrictions.

“I can tell you that Jonathan will not run at the end of the day. The Constitution is clear about it, and there’s no need to twist it. If he insists, he will only end up embarrassed and rubbished,” Obadele said.
