Hating President Tinubu is irrational, useless says Sam Amadi

Ex Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC), Sam Amadi, has criticised those who have been exhibiting personal hatred for President Bola Tinubu.

Amadi asked detractors to concentrate on Tinubu’s programs and politics instead.

He stated in a tweet on X on Tuesday that it was pointless to disparage Tinubu personally just to have someone with same governance flaws take his place.

Amadi emphasised that opposing Tinubu’s political approach and advocating for a leader who is essentially different from him is the right thing to do.

He said: “There is no sense in hating Tinubu as a person and bringing someone who is as heinous in politics and governance as him. That is what we did against @GEJonathan

“Hate Tinubu’s politics & polices and bring someone who is very different from him. That is what is rational & honest.”

He pointed out that the opposition to former President Goodluck Jonathan made the similar error.

“Hatred for Jonathan made us take out a government that was doing well and brought a terrible one. If we wanted to improve on Jonathan, we could have brought someone who is better in the areas where he was weak. Or improved Jonathan,” he added.

Amadi emphasised that Nigerians require honest, logical opposition that aims to fundamentally depart from the president’s political approach rather than emotional hostility.

He said that rather than breeding personal animosity, which he said may plunge the nation into further crises, the people and opposition should concentrate on calling for governance reforms.
