‘I Have Enough Problems’ – Femi Kuti Jokes While Posing With Korra Obidi [VIDEO]

Afrobeat musician Femi Kuti has said he would rather avoid becoming the subject of online controversy involving celebrity dancer and singer Korra Obidi.

The remark came as he playfully hesitated to take photographs with Korra after a live concert in Lagos.

His reaction appeared to reference the backlash Korra Obidi faced in December 2025 after posting a video of herself twerking at the gravesite of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti during a visit to the family shrine.

In a video shared by Korra on Instagram on Friday, Femi Kuti jokingly called on his elder sister, Yeni Kuti, to join them in the photograph, saying he wanted to avoid any unnecessary drama.

“Iya Kuti (YK), come and enter this picture. I don’t want any problems in my life. I have enough problems. It seems the gods don’t even want this picture; that’s why it’s raining,” he joked.

Sharing the clip on Instagram, Korra Obidi expressed her excitement at meeting the legendary musician and his sister.

She wrote: “Uncle Femi doesn’t want wahala. Yesterday after my private live concert, I met the legends @femiakuti and @yeniakuti at Legacy Studios. I am so honoured. Thank you @bigbirdkuti.”

BACKSTORY:

Femi Kuti, the eldest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians and has continued to preserve his father’s musical and cultural legacy through his performances and advocacy.

Korra Obidi, a dancer, singer and social media personality, is known for her energetic dance videos and online content. In December 2025, she sparked widespread criticism after sharing a video of herself twerking at Fela Kuti’s gravesite during a visit to the Kuti family shrine. While some supporters viewed the performance as a tribute to Fela’s free-spirited legacy, many others described it as disrespectful and inappropriate, triggering intense debate on social media.

The incident generated significant online controversy and placed Korra at the centre of public criticism. Against that backdrop, Femi Kuti’s light-hearted remark about not wanting “problems” while posing for a photograph with her was widely interpreted as a humorous reference to the earlier backlash.

Despite the joke, Femi eventually posed for the picture alongside his sister, Yeni Kuti, while Korra later expressed appreciation for meeting the legendary musician and his family after her live concert in Lagos.
