Record producer and musician Osabuohien Osaretin, popularly known as Sarz, has reflected on how ego affected his early career and limited his willingness to collaborate with other artists.
In a recent interview with The Fadar, the “Back Outside” hitmaker admitted that he was once very aggressive in attitude and often felt superior to many of his peers in the music industry.
The 37-year-old said that mindset initially made it difficult for him to work freely with other creatives, as he believed he already had everything figured out.
However, he explained that over time he gained a new perspective and realized he still had a lot to learn.
Sarz noted that this shift in mindset opened him up to collaboration and learning from others in the industry, including upcoming and inexperienced artists.
Sarz said that when he first started out, he was highly driven to prove himself and believed he was at the top of his game, but maturity helped him understand the value of humility and continuous learning.
