Nigerian singer Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua, popular known by her stage name “Seyi Shay”, has disclosed that she was previously an Illuminati member.
Although there have long been suspicions that some Nigerian celebrities are connected to the contentious secret society, Seyi Shay’s revelation is one of the few instances in which a singer has openly acknowledged such connections.
The “Yolo Yolo” crooner disclosed that her affiliation with the Illuminati was a stage in her career during an interview with Gbemi and Toolz on the OffAir Podcast.
“That’s when I was in the Illuminati. That’s when I joined the Illuminati. That’s when it was official. Do you understand? I was an Illuminati member,” she said.
Seyi Shay went on to say that although fans might not be aware of these ties, those in the entertainment business frequently recognise individuals who were formerly associated with the group.
“It’s not the fans, guys. It’s the people in the industry… the ones who work with me, work with her, work with that one,” she added.
