Social media is in a frenzy and fans have not yer recovered following the Big Brother Naija Season 10 finale. Imisi won the reality show with a dominant 42.8% of the total votes, which is over three times more than first runner-up Dede’s 15.94%.
Other finalists included Koyin (15.23%), Sultana (7.94%), Kola (5.48%), Jason Jae (4.24%), Mensan (3.54%), Isabella (3.07%), and Kaybobo (1.72%), according to data released by Big Brother Naija on Sunday.
While many supporters applauded Imisi’s resounding victory, others asserted that “pity votes” were the main factor.

Mackie4reall, a user on X, claimed that her victory was a reflection of society’s misguided priorities.
“Imisi winning #BBNaija really says a lot about what we celebrate in this country. We keep rewarding drama and pity over intelligence and substance. Then we wonder why our politics and society look the way they do.”
Another user went further, to suggest that her victory was undeserved charity: “The money was faithfully given to her as charity, since she begged for it.”
In a similar vein, DavidPattt wrote, “Laycon – pity,” grouping her with past winners who were accused of using the “pity” card. Whitemoney: sorry. Phyna: pity or razz. Pity, Ilebaye. Imisi: sympathy.

Many viewers and supporters however quickly fired back, defending her strategy and personality.
A user, symply_kimm dismissed the narrative outright, insisting she earned her spot, “Which one is pity vote??? Imisi that did the most in that house to win that money is what you guys are saying, pity vote??? Must be cr@zee. IMISI IS VERY DESERVING OF HER WIN!!”
In Ulxma opinion, Imisi’s appeal went beyond sympathy. “She was funny, entertaining, witty, smart, crazy, emotional, flawed, unserious, silly, courageous, and even annoying… the full package. I can’t believe the ‘pity’ and ‘poor’ narrative was imposed on her when she didn’t want it.”
Fans on Instagram were also divided as the debate continued. 22degree_creamy gushed as supporters applauded her uniqueness.
However, not everyone was convinced. riike_001 suggested foul play in the results, saying, “No wonder they didn’t show how viewers voted because Faith was the actual winner. But it is what it is… Congratulations Imisi.”
Imisi’s 42.8% vote share, despite the contentious debate, is proof of her enormous popularity during a ten-week campaign that kept millions of Nigerians glued to their TVs.
She is also the second-youngest and fourth female BBNaija champion after Ilebaye Odiniya, who won Season 8 at the age of barely 22.
