The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has reportedly responded to President Donald Trump’s recent threat to initiate military action in Nigeria.

Recall that the U.S. President recently designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” and instructed the U.S. Department of Defense to prepare for potential intervention over the alleged genocide against Christians in the country.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama, ISWAP’s reaction came through a “propaganda message circulated on its usual communication channels,” as revealed in a report he shared via his official X handle.
According to Makama, ISWAP in its message described Trump as a “reckless American tyrant,” alleging that the US President was being influenced by “evangelical Christian and Jewish advisers” during his administration.
The terror group also claimed that Trump’s move signaled what it described as an attempt by the United States to project itself as a “global defender of Christians.”

He said the extremists also warned its fighters against the use of smart phones, urging them to avoid large gatherings and limit movement.
In the statement, the group called on Muslims in West Africa to “unite” and take the alleged US threat seriously, accusing the West of what it termed “crimes against African Muslims.”
The American President had warned the Nigerian government to take urgent action to curb the alleged Christian genocide in the country or risk a military action. The federal government had denied the allegations saying both Christians and Muslims are victims of insecurity.
