Just in: civil service recruitment deadline extended to March 17
The Federal Government has extended the application deadline for the Federal Civil Service recruitment to March 17, 2025.
The Federal Civil Service Commission had initially announced the recruitment exercise on January 27, 2025, with over 70 vacant positions available across various ministries, departments, and agencies.
Among the listed vacant positions are Administrative Officer, Planning Officer, Programme Analyst, Procurement Officer, Senior Computer Engineer, Dentist/Dental Officer, Population Programme Officer, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Education Officers, and Senior Youth Development Officer.
However, many citizens faced difficulties accessing the recruitment portal, resulting in widespread request for an extension.
Hassan Taiwo FCSC spokesperson, confirmed that some applicants encountered technical challenges but maintained that others were able register successfully.
In response to the concerns, the commission published an advertisement in two national dailies, announcing the new deadline. The advertisement, shared by Taiwo on Monday, stated that the new deadline supersedes the previous one, which was initially set for March 10, 2025.
The advertisement read, “The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for receiving applications for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, March 17, 2025, to allow more eligible candidates to participate in the exercise.”
This announcement overrides the previous advertisement of Monday, January 27, 2025, in some national dailies, as well as the FCSC website (http://www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng), where the deadline was initially stated as Monday, March 10, 2025.
“The updated information is now available on the FCSC website and in The Sun and The Nation newspapers of Monday, March 10, 2025, including Daily Trust of Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
“Qualified Nigerians are urged to take advantage of this extension and apply for the available vacancies.
“The Commission assures applicants of a merit-driven and transparent recruitment process,” the announcement concluded.
