The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted ₦30 million bail to Doris Ogala—the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State in the 2027 election—following allegations of cyberstalking and related offenses involving Pastor Chris Okafor.
Justice Akintayo Aluko delivered the ruling on Friday, November 6, 2026, setting the bail condition at ₦30 million.
The court required two sureties in the like sum and directed Ms. Ogala to surrender her international passport to the court registrar.
Additionally, the court restrained the Nollywood actress from publishing any online content that could threaten, intimidate, or harass prosecution witnesses while the trial remains ongoing.
Justice Aluko stated that the bail conditions were designed to balance Ogala’s constitutionally protected right to liberty with the need to protect witnesses and guarantee her attendance throughout the trial.
The judge expressed strong concern over Ogala’s conduct during the October 28, 2026 proceedings, noting reports that her disruptions forced the court to adjourn ten scheduled cases.
Backstory…
The dispute between Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor became public after Ogala made allegations about her alleged relationship with the founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
The disagreement later escalated into social media exchanges, with the cleric becoming the subject of online accusations and publications by the actress.
In October 2026, the Federal Government arraigned Ogala on three counts bordering on alleged cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortion.
Prosecutors accused her of publishing intimate photographs and allegedly false messages, as well as threatening further publications unless the pastor compensated her.
