Kebbi will not surrender to bandits- Gov Idris vows

The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, has vowed that his administration and the people of the state will not bow to bandit attacks but tackle their menace with deserved efforts in a renewed battle to ward them off.

Meanwhile, Governor Idris assured residents during an emergency security meeting that his administration would swiftly drive criminals out of the state.

He convened the meeting at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi to strengthen the state’s security architecture, enhance coordinated responses to emerging security threats, and implement long-term solutions.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” he said.

Furthermore, Governor Idris expressed deep concern over the recent attacks in parts of the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to curb insecurity and ensure that every resident can “sleep with both eyes closed.”

While commending security agencies operating in the state, the governor noted that their efforts have made a significant impact in maintaining peace and harmony.

Additionally, he said, “I urge all residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information. People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly.”

Meanwhile, Malam Ahmed Idris, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, issued a statement to the media outlining the governor’s position on the terrorist attacks.
