The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Sunday hosted prominent opposition figures at his residence in Kano for Sallah celebrations.
The visitors included the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, now a member of the African Democratic Congress; Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party; and former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

He shared photos of the gathering on his verified X account on Sunday, describing the occasion as a joyful Sallah celebration.
The post read, “Delighted to host Their Excellencies, Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde, and Seriake Dickson at my Kano residence for this joyful Sallah celebration.

“Wishing everyone peace, blessings, and prosperity,” Kwankwaso wrote on his page.
The meeting takes place amid of persistent rumours regarding opposition realignment in advance of the general elections in 2027.

In February 2026, the NNPP Chieftain and Governor Makinde had a private meeting in Ibadan that sparked discussions about potential coalitions to oppose the current All Progressives Congress.
