Emmanuel Otti, the chairman of the Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State, has accused Julius Abure, the party’s factional National Chairman, and his followers of breaking the Supreme Court’s April 2025 order.

Additionally, he denounced the Abure-led faction’s recent congresses as illegal “Kangaroo” exercises.

Speaking to reporters on Monday at the Labour Party State office in Umuahia, Otti stated that he had obtained an order from the Abia State High Court last week prohibiting the LP Congress’s activities worldwide. However, he expressed disappointment that the Abure group had disregarded the order.

He strongly warned that the action could attract the wrath of the gods.

“Remember that in April this year, there was a Supreme Court judgement and that judgement must be followed to the last.

“So, if you are going contrary to the law of the lands, the gods will hit you. If at all they held any Congress anywhere, it was a Kangaroo exercise”, Otti said.

Regarding the wellbeing of Labour Party members in Abia, Otti stated that, contrary to what the opposing party’s members claimed, Governor Alex Otti did not desert the LP members.

He clarified that his party’s members who contributed to Governor Otti’s win are welcomed and not excluded from the administration.

Additionally, revealed that Labour Party members’ satisfaction with Governor Otti’s performance was reinforced by a recent sensitization and evaluation visit his party conducted in several LGAs throughout the State.

Based on what he described as the governor’s “unprecedented performance,” the LP Chairman further announced that Governor Otti and the Labour Party would win elections in every region of Abia in 2027.
