Chidi Avajah, Abia State APC secretary has been suspended by the party, APC Ahiaukwu Ward 2, Umuahia South LGA of Abia State, for allegedly breaking the party’s constitution.
The decision was made during a meeting that was chaired by Ndumele Nwabueze, the acting Ward Chairman, and held on Saturday at Okaiuga Civic Hall, Okwu Olokoro.
A seven-person disciplinary committee was set up by the APC Ward leaders to look into the accusations against the two officials. They also suspended Mr. Onyekwere Sylvester for allegedly posing as the interim Ward Chairman.
The leaders of APC Ahiaukwu Ward 2 claimed that Avajah took over the party by independently selecting an acting Ward Chairman following the passing of the previous Ward Chairman, despite the fact that Congress-elected party officials had been consulted.
They further disclosed that the suspended State Secretary was not paying his monthly dues to the party in breach of article 9 section 9.2 sub section ii, they observed that his acts were in violation of article 21 section A, sub sections ii, vi, and vii of the party’s constitution.
Previous reports revealed that former governor Senator Orji Uzor Kalu recently called a gathering on peace, love, and reconciliation in his Abuja residence to rally support for Abia APC unity and reconciliation in the run-up to the 2027 election.
