The 41-year-old superstar announced on Friday, July 24, that he had agreed to a two-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers after deciding against retirement, calling the move the “last decision” of his professional NBA career.
Asked about the decision during a White House press briefing, President Donald Trump stated that he considers Michael Jordan to be the superior player.
Jordan, 63, won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls during the 1990s and earned five Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
When asked whether Jordan or James was the “best ever”, Trump said: “Michael Jordan is a guy that’s a friend of mine. I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy.
He also said, “I think LeBron is, maybe he’s a racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump. I don’t know. I only like people that like me, so I would say Michael Jordan all the way.”

LeBron James was a frequent critic of Trump during his presidency and supported Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris as they ran against him.
Following a disagreement about invites to the White House for NBA champions, he referred President Trump as “a bum” in 2017.
