Mahdi Shehu, a public pundit and human rights activist, has cautioned that the current All Progressives Congress (APC) may soon experience the same demise as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that authority based on injustice and conceit cannot last indefinitely.
Shehu posted the comment on his official X Twitter early on Tuesday.
He made a stark connection between the APC’s increasing contempt for Nigerians and the PDP’s 16-year decline in power.

According to him, “Whatever goes up must surely come down. Just as PDP rose and fell after its years of pride and betrayal, APC is now walking the same path.”
He noted that in 2008, then PDP National Chairman Vincent Ogbulafor boasted that the PDP will rule Nigeria for 60 years, but the party eventually fell apart due to internal strife.

“God showed them who truly owns power. The same will happen to APC if they don’t change,” he added.
Mahdi Shehu accused the APC of destroying institutions, intimidating citizens, and taking the country for granted.

He warned that such arrogance always ends in disgrace.
Quoting the Bible, he said, “Psalm 37:10 says, ‘A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.’
