The Plateau State Government has dismissed as a blatant falsehood the rumors suggesting that Governor Caleb Mutfwang has defected to the Young Progressives Party (YPP), calling them a fabrication spread by mischief-makers.

This was stated by Dr. Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs at Government House, in a statement released on Friday in Jos, the state capital.
Bere explained that the speculation is intended to sow confusion and mislead the public.
The statement emphasized that Governor Caleb remains fully committed to his duties and has not defected to any political party.
“Governor Mutfwang has not defected to the Young Progressives Party.

“Where and when there is any change in status, be assured that Governor Mutfwang will utilise official and verified communication channels to inform the people of Plateau State and all well-wishers,” the statement stressed.
The state government, therefore, urged supporters and residents to disregard the false claim and stay focused on the governor’s development projects and people-centered initiatives.
