A senatorial aspirant on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ehiozuwa Agbonayinwa, has accused the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, of imposing candidates.
Ehiozuwa Agbonayinwa made the allegation on Friday during an appearance on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television.
The aggrieved aspirant claimed that despite winning the senatorial primary, Dickson is allegedly planning to hand the ticket to another candidate.
“Dickson is imposing candidates in the NDC. Look at what Aisha Yesufu did at the NDC national secretariat.
“The NDC conducted primaries on May 29, but as of June 5, the party has still not released the results.
“Dickson disappointed me completely. He personally encouraged me to contest for the NDC Senate ticket, and I won the primary.
“Now, the same Dickson is saying the party will conduct an affirmation for an Ijaw woman instead of respecting the outcome of the primary election,” he alleged.
