Buba Galadima, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and ally of former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, said the party has zoned its presidential ticket to the South ahead of the primaries.
Galadima further affirmed that the party has adopted a hard stance on zoning, designating it to the southern region of the nation on its presidential ticket.
“No missing words, we have zoned it to the South,” he declared.
“Therefore, whoever from the South who is interested should go and register quickly.”
Additionally, Galadima stated that internal preparations were already ongoing to ensure the party meets all statutory requirements and avoids delays in its political timetable.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) formally registered former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as members.
Reports indicate that the duo, on Sunday, announced their departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Both politicians, who are reportedly exploring a joint presidential ticket for the 2027 race, visited the NDC secretariat in Abuja and were officially welcomed into the party.
We won’t surrender party structure to Kwankwaso
Usaini Isa Mai Riga, the chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, has stated that former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will not receive the party structure, creating a new political impasse.
Despite holding two separate meetings to discuss leadership arrangements, Mai Riga said in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Monday that attempts to come to an agreement with Kwankwaso before to his admission into the party had failed.
