Organized through the Presidential Metering Initiative, the kick-off cohort targets 5,000 young Nigerians selected from an overwhelming pool of nearly 220,000 applicants nationwide.
The three-week intensive program takes place at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria. Following classroom instruction and practical field exercises, participants will earn formal certifications from the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency before deploying to installation sites.

Furthermore, Executive Secretary of the initiative Olu Verheijen highlighted that accurate metering rebuilds consumer trust, ensuring customers pay only for electricity consumed.
