Insecurity: Nigeria absolutely worse than a country at war-Chidoka
Osita Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation, has stated that the condition of security in Nigeria now is significantly worse than a country at war.

In an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, the former minister made this claim while cautioning that the nation’s instability goes beyond a civil conflict.

“From the data, it’s about more than a civil war,” he said.

He claimed that even if Nigeria is at peace, the number of persons killed in countries like Gaza, Syria, and other locations might be comparable to that of Nigeria.

Nigeria is suffering greatly, he remarked, and he urged the government to take charge.

Additionally, the former minister cited recent murders and abductions as evidence of a deteriorating security situation.

According to him, the government should gather all relevant parties in one place to look for answers to such problems rather than playing games of blame.

Recall that  General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, recently stated that the recent surge in killings and insecurity nationwide cannot be disassociated from the general election in 2027.

While states like Benue and Plateau continue to be hotspots for violence and murders, Nigeria is seeing an increase in terrorist activity in the country’s northeast and frequent banditry attacks in its northwest.

Following the surge in killings, at least 34 people were killed Monday while praying at a mosque in the Unguwar Mantau neighbourhood of the Malumfashi Local Government Area in Katsina State that left residents fleeing for their lives.
