Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singers, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake and Tems have been nominated for the 2026 BET Awards.
Meanwhile, comedian Druski will host the awards ceremony, which will take place in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026, and will be broadcast live on ET on BET.
In addition, the annual nominations were announced on Tuesday, with several Nigerian artists recognised across different music categories.
Asake and Wizkid received a joint nomination in the Best Group category after working together on a project and releasing several hits.
Tems received three nominations, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and BET Her Award for her song “First,” making her one of Africa’s most renowned contenders.
Similarly, Burna Boy was nominated for Best Collaboration category for his feature on Gunna’s hit single, WGFT.

These nominations comes following the 2025 BET Award where Nigerian stars also received nominations across different categories.

With nominations for Best International Act, Best New Artist, and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Mavin Records’ golden star Ayra Starr received three nominations.
Her reputation as an international force in the music industry is further cemented by her acknowledgement.
